Why Network Marketing ? Why now ?
Network marketing programs feature a minimal upfront investment--usually a few hundred dollars or less for the purchase of a product sample kit--which gives you the opportunity to sell the product line directly to family, friends and other contacts. Most network programs also ask that you recruit other sales reps--those same family members, friends and acquaintances.
These sales rep recruits constitute your 'downline,' and their sales generate income for you. Then whoever they recruit becomes part of their downline as well as yours, generating income for them as well as for you. So the more people you bring on board, the better your income potential.
If you're a sales-savvy type who can convince others of the beauty of this plan and keep them selling sales memberships (as well as products), you can earn a substantial amount of money. And you've got lots of network marketing plans to choose from. The most popular sell health supplements and beauty aids, but you can go with everything from long-distance phone services to fine art prints. The advantages to this business are that start-up costs are minimal, hours are flexible, you can start part-time, and you can work from home. About the only thing you need in this business is a sense of salesmanship.
Network Marketing is the future in business. It's a powerful marketing model that's sweeping the world and will have a greater impact than franchising. Bold statements? The balance of this article will provide the proof.Fortune magazine called direct selling (of which network marketing is the largest segment) "the best kept secret in the business world." It has experienced 91-percent growth in the last 10 years with annual sales in excess of $30 billion in the United States, and $100 billion worldwide.
Financial experts say it's a "recession proof" industry. Billionaire Warren Buffet, after purchasing a network marketing company, called it the best investment he'd ever made. Tom Peters, author of In Search of Excellence, calls it the first truly revolutionary shift in marketing in the last 50 years.
Why the Interest in Network Marketing?
The main reason so many people are entering network marketing is that it fits the current marketing trends. If you haven't figured it out by now, the baby boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964) are in control. Seventy-six million strong in the United States, and over a billion worldwide, the boomers have dictated what's hot, from baby food to fast food to minivans to SUVs.
Now the boomers are looking for products that'll help them look and feel younger, and for ways to secure their financial future and enjoy more time freedom. Network marketing offers the answers.
Tired of the corporate rat race, many people are starting home businesses in record numbers. CNN reported that a new home based business is started in the United States every 11 seconds. The home-business boom is the next big trend, and network marketing is one of the hottest home businesses available. It offers low start-up investment and monthly overhead, and entrepreneurs can start part-time, while still employed, and build the business to replace their current job income. Age, gender and race aren't barriers in network marketing; in fact, well over half of the success stories are women.
Is Network Marketing for You?
There are no perfect or right type of people for network marketing. There's a common myth that network marketing is all about selling, so many people who don't see themselves as "salespeople" shy away from it. The truth is, most of the people who are a huge success in network marketing aren't sales types, and tend to be more introverted.
People aren't looking for products, services--or even business opportunities; they're looking for solutions to life's problems.
In fact, the biggest reasons why people are flocking to network marketing are time leverage, residual income, and tax benefits. Network marketing is one of the few businesses that doesn't require employees, yet enables the owner to leverage his or her time by building a network of independent business people.
This network, which purchases and sells products or services, generates a residual income for the owner. Unlike the income earned at a job, which stops when the work stops, residual income continues on long after the work is completed. As exciting as leverage and residual income are, boomers love the tax benefits of network marketing.
The final reason why so many people of all ages are interested in network marketing is the internet. Success requires a business owner to build a large network of people who buy and sell products/services and recruit others who'll do the same. The internet now enables network marketers to build national and international businesses from the comfort of their home. No more early-morning alarms and high-stress commutes; all the work can be done from a bedroom with a computer and telephone.
Thanks to the internet, people can now work from the comfort of their home, and within a few months to a few years, build a large international business. The income from this business will secure their financial future and provide more free time to truly enjoy life. The best part is that anyone can do it.
In the movie The Graduate, a young Dustin Hoffman was told that the future was in plastics. I'm here to tell you that the future is in network marketing, and that future is now.
We Would Like to Know what you think about Network Marketing !
Should you consider Network Marketing ?
Are you curious who should be doing Network Marketing and who shouldn’t? This will help but I do believe MOST could benefit and should do it. In my post you will also get some Facebook Marketing tips for those already participating or with the desire to get started.
Who Should Consider the Model?
All Sales People.
Yep, you heard me, all sales people. Why? For a few reasons:
1. If you are in sales, there are more people you talk to that DON’T buy your product than do, wouldn’t it be cool to have something you could offer the ones that don’t buy from you that you could make money with?
2. Ever go through a slump in your sales career? Maybe the realtors can resonate with this one. What if you could keep real estate your primary motivation but at least see who around you would be open to an additional income stream. When all your eggs are in one basket, that can be tough at times.
3. MOST sales people get paid per transaction. They make a transaction, they get paid once. Last month’s hero is this months zero. If you are not making residual income from your sales, well, at some age it may not interest you to have to hustle to drum up more business but if you were getting paid over and over for each transaction, wouldn’t that be neat. People ask me what I made my first month in network marketing and that is actually hard to answer because I am STILL making money from people I recruited my first month (over 6 months ago). My guess would be that first month has made me hundreds of dollars, course that didn’t show up that first month but it keeps showing up later. IF you are in sales and NOT making any residual income that comes in long after the initial sale is made, just fast forward 20 years and see if you want to still be hustling as hard as you currently are.
4. Sales people aren’t wussies. They get pay for performance and they know coffee is for closers =)
All Small Business Owners
Some of the points for sales people also apply to small business owners and why they should do network marketing too. The biggest reason that I think small business owners should do network marketing is for the free marketing and community support they get.
When you have a business owner in your team, the team WANTS to support their business. I wonder how many restaurants and other small businesses have gone OUT of business that could have kept their doors open with just a little local support from networking groups ?
Anyone who Hates their Job
How else will you get out of that job unless you create an additional income? Especially if you are low on money to invest in a business, network marketing is probably your best option. You don’t have to stay stuck like a tree in the ground in a situation you don’t want to be in. But you can get started , after hours until your happy with your progress and income and then and in your resignation .
Truth about Network Marketing Success
I am NOT saying that the above categories have to switch their focus from their primary thing to network marketing. Snap into the system. Find a mentor that can show you where to point them to the system/fast start/events, etc. You don’t have to go hog wild and burn your bridges or anything like that. My suggestion is to build options. If by staying focused on your primary thing but throwing the network marketing option out there you build a decent side income that rolls in every month, well, wouldn’t that be pretty dang cool?
